Nursery Funding & Extra Costs
Starting January 2026, Early Education Providers must publish the costs of any optional, chargeable extras in accordance with the Department for Education’s Statutory Guidance. These costs should be transparent, current, and easily accessible to parents, helping them make informed decisions when choosing a provider. | Free of charge: Fresh Fruit Snack | A fresh fruit snack (which can consist of banana, orange, apple, carrots) is provided by school as part of the Governments Fruit & Veg Scheme for Schools. The fruit and vegetables will be fresh and of good quality. The aim is for children to have a positive and enjoyable experience of fruit and vegetables. | Free |
| Free of charge: Milk | Every child is entitled to 189ml (one-third of a pint) of milk each day, free of charge. The school arranges this for all eligible pupils. The Nursery Milk Scheme, managed by the Nursery Milk Reimbursement Unit (NMRU) on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care and the Welsh Government, provides this entitlement. It ensures that children under five attending approved day care settings receive 189ml (one-third of a pint) of milk daily at no cost. | Free |
